Slient Reading Tips
When you read, pay attention to vocabulary words (in bold), explanations that describe HOW and WHY, and pictures/charts. It is also a good idea to review the questions at the end of each section. Although they are not graded, you should attempt them. You should self-reflect after each reading to make sure that you have understood what you read.
If you read the material and don’t understand it, and then do poorly on the quiz, it is as if you didn’t even bother to read!
It is essential to develop ways of comprehending what you read. See Mr. Zunick at any time if you need assistance.
Some plants have special adaptations for the heat.
Some lizards display cryptic coloration for protection.
The seagull is looking for a snack in the bay.
Some birds have special adaptations for the water.
